Microsoft has recently unveiled its latest operating system, named as Windows 10. While everyone thought that the new OS would be named as Windows 9, the Microsoft officials surprised everyone by calling it as Win 10. Right now, they have released a free preview build of the Windows 10 operating system. The users can download it by going to the official website.
New Features in Windows 10 OS
Since, the Win 10 is based on Windows 8 OS, you'll feel that the interface is almost similar to that of the Win 8 or 8.1. However, Microsoft has added many excellent features which were not present in their earlier builds.
Currently, they've released a testing version of the Windows 10 as the original build (final version) is still under development. Meanwhile, users can download the Technical preview version for free of cost.
- Start Menu: Microsoft has finally added the missing Windows 7 style Start menu in Windows 10. Now, the users can choose between Start menu or Start screen with tiles.
- Virtual/Multiple Desktops: The much awaited feature of using more than one desktop at a time (like in Linux) is introduced in Windows 10. Simply, press Win+Tab keys together to open a control window where you can add more desktops.
- New Alt+Tab interface: You can now see larger thumbnails of all the running programs in full screen.
- Android & Windows Phone style notification center
- and other minor changes in Windows Theme & UI.
How to Download Windows 10 Technical Preview?
In order to download the OS, you'll have to sign up for the 'Windows Insider Program'. Once it is done, you can select from different computer systems such as 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64). Also, do note that the size of these preview versions is 2.9GB for 32-bit & 3.8GB for 64-bit.
The Windows 10 Technical Preview version is available in English (US), English (UK), Chinese (Simplified) and Portuguese (Brazil).

How to Install Windows 10 Technical Preview?
Installing the new Windows 10 OS is pretty simple & straightforward. All you need to do is to download the ISO file from the above given links & then burn the ISO image to a DVD using disc/image burning software or simply create a bootable USB drive from ISO image.

Do note that the build is not a final product and is provided free only for testing purpose. So, you may encounter some issues while using this demo version, which is why it is highly advised not to install the new Windows 10 preview version on your existing OS. Either install it on a separate hard disk partition (dual booting) or simply install Windows OS virtually.
System Requirements: Windows 10 Technical Preview
The system requirements for installing the new Windows 10 preview is same as Win 8 and 8.1. All the Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 users are eligible for upgrading to the new OS. Unfortunately, Windows Vista users are not allowed to upgrade, but they can always perform a clean installation without any issues.

How to Uninstall Windows 10 Technical Preview?
Case 1: If you've upgraded from Windows 7/8/8.1 to Windows 10, then you can easily uninstall the new OS by using 'Windows Updates'.
Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates
There, you'll find the 'Update for Microsoft Windows (KB2990214)' program in the list. Simply, click on it & press 'uninstall'. Restart your Computer for the changes to be effected. Your PC is now back to your old Windows edition.
Case 2: If you've installed it by creating a separate partition (dual booting), then you can follow the below steps to uninstall it completely.
- Start your PC and you'll get an option to 'choose an operating system' where you'll be shown different OS installed by you. Underneath them, you'll find 'Change defaults or choose other optitons' link. Click on it.
- You'll be then taken to 'Choose an option' screen. Select 'Troubleshoot'.
- In the next screen, you'll find an option 'Uninstall Preview updates'. You can easily get rid of or uninstall Windows 10 technical preview once you select this option.
