WhatsApp is a mobile messaging client and hence it used to function only on the mobile devices. However, there are many ways through which you can install WhatsApp on PC. Unfortunately, all those methods are not straightforward and require several steps/installations. Luckily, the WhatsApp team has now officially launched the web version for their users.
Yes! You can now use WhatsApp on your PC via the Chrome browser (no support for other browsers as yet). However, you should know that the web client is just an extension of what you see on your mobile app. It simply reflects the chat conversations that are stored on your mobile device. Saying so, all the data will still exist on your phone.

How to Install/Use WhatsApp on Chrome Browser (PC)?
- First of all, update your WhatsApp with the latest version by going to the PlayStore or directly download the apk file here. This is necessary because the 'WhatsApp Web' option is not available in the older versions.
- Once updated, open the Chrome Browser on your PC and visit 'https://web.whatsapp.com/'. The webpage opens up with a unique QR code.
- Now, on your mobile, open WhatsApp application and select the 'WhatsApp Web' option from the menu. It will then ask you to scan the QR code appeared in your PC browser.
- Simply, scan the QR code and all your WhatsApp data (conversations and messages) will be synced between the devices.
