TOP 5 ANDROID PHONES UNDER 10000 RS IN INDIA

1. Micromax Yu Yureka:

Rewind your thoughts back to last year and think of which was the best phone to buy under 10,000 Rs then. If you can recall it correctly you will find out that it was the Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 (If you find it difficult to rewind, just take a look at our post from January 2014 here). Now come back to present and see what we have at just Rs. 9,000 – The Micromax Yu Yureka!!! This phone has completely revolutionized the 10,000 Rs segment. A year earlier you wouldn’t have got the phone with this specs and quality even at 25,000 Rs. So, let’s take a look at the phone. It is powered by a 64-bit Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor which is immensely powerful. It has got 2 GB RAM, which makes the phone capable of handling heavy gaming and multi-tasking very smoothly. It runs on the CyanogenMod 11, which gives you tons of extra features & capabilities. It has got a pretty large 5.5 inches screen which is even protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen has 720 x 1280 pixels resolution which gives 267 ppi pixel density which is decent at this price. Another important thing is that it has got great picture quality with the 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras. It is good on storage also, it comes with 16 GB internal memory (12.5 GB user accessible) which can be expanded upto 32 GB. With the 2500 mAH Li-ion Battery the phone is good on battery too. Overall, with good specs, great camera, excellent build quality and best gaming experience, it is undoubtedly the best phone to buy under 10,000 Rs.

2. Asus Zenfone 5 (16 GB):

The Micromax Yu Yureka is the best but for those who find it very large, this is the perfect phone for this price range. In July 2014, Asus launched the new Zenfone series of phones. And at this price segment we have got the Asus Zenfone 5. It has got the 1.6 GHz Intel dual core processor with 2 GB RAM which delivers exceptional performance and good multi-tasking. The 5 inches HD screen and the display is very good, it has also got the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. One more thing I loved about the phone is, it has increased display sensitivity so you can use the phone even while wearing gloves, this is great for winter season. The phone’s design is sleek and beautiful. It has got good camera and it runs on the Android Kitkat, a good news is that, it will get the Android Lollipop update in May itself. This phone comes with two storage option 8 GB and 16 GB while both come with the expandable storage. The battery life of the phone is not too good but, its acceptable. Overall this phone has got most of the things right and gives a balanced user experience at this price.

3. Lenovo A7000:
The newly launched Lenovo A7000 is the successor of popular budget 4G smartphone Lenovo A6000 and directly competes with the Yureka YU, Redmi Note & Honor 4X. The Lenovo A7000 features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display, it runs on Octa-core MediaTek MT6752m processor clocked at 1.5 GHz coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The performance of the phone is very good, and the benchmark score suggest its performance is even better than the other 3 phones mentioned above. When it comes to camera, it sports an 8 MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera, well it’s decent but it should have been 13 MP like the competition. Internal storage of the smartphone is 8 GB, which is expandable via micro SD card up to 32 GB. A great thing in the phone is, it comes with “Android 5.0 Lollipop” running Lenovo’s Vibe UI on top of it. Another USP of the Lenovo A7000 is the “Dolby Atmos support” which offers the similar level of sound that you hear in a theatre. It is backed by a 2900 mAh battery, which gives good battery life. It supports Dual Sim and 4G. Overall, it’s a good phone and can be a good choice for gaming and if you specifically want phone for music & videos, it will be the best choice. If you want best battery life the new Lenovo A5000 with 4000 mAh battery will be the best choice in this budget, the Lenovo S850 with 13 MP is also available at this price.

4. Huawei Honor 4X:

Huawei (no. 2 in China) is now a more serious player in the Indian smartphone market. It has launched very exciting phones in many ranges. And the most recent is the Honor 4X which is launched at the 10,000 Rs. The phone packs very exciting specifications. It runs on the 64-bit Quad Core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 Processor coupled with 2 GB RAM, which gives good performance and handles most of the tasks effectively. Still, if you need a phone for gaming, it will be good to go with the Yureka YU. It has the 5.5 inches screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution same as the Yureka YU, Redmi Note and Lenovo A7,000 and as I said above, it is not great but its acceptable considering the overall features at this price. The design of the phone is simple but it feels good, the textured back panel of the phone gives a very good grip. It has got 13 MP rear and 5 MP front cameras and both the cameras are good. The USP of the phone is that it has Dual Sim and both the Sim can support 4G LTE. It has got 8 GB internal storage which is expandable upto 32 GB. It sports a 3000 mAh battery which delivers very good battery backup. Overall, it is a very good phone and can be another good choice at this price.

5. Moto E (2nd Gen) (4G):

After the grand success of the massively popular Moto E, Motorola has launched the successor of it – The Moto E (2nd Gen) which is now more powerful. The Moto E (2nd Gen) sports a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor which is coupled with 1 GB RAM. It has 8 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB via Micro SD Card. It features a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus and a 0.3 MP front camera which was missing in the 1st Gen Moto E but, it still lacks the LED flash. One thing is clear this phone is not meant for camera lovers. It runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and will continue to get the future Android updates which is a great deal. It also features a 2,390 mAh battery which is bigger and better than the previous Moto E, it can easily last for a day. It also has the water-repellent and anti-smudge coatings. This phone doesn’t offer you the best of the specifications at this price but, it does offer a great user experience. It has got a solid build quality and beautiful design, the UI is stock Android and is great, the phone is fast enough, and the battery life is very good. Overall, it is not for power users or camera lovers, but if you want a decent phone for everyday normal usage, this can be a good choice.
