Samsung almost nailed it at MWC 2015 with an astounding announcement of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge with body made from reinforced glass and aircraft-grade aluminum. It was one of few things Samsung could have improved and this time Samsung has actually cared for consumers.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have almost same hardware barring the extra curved Display on Galaxy S6 Edge. Both the devices rock an aluminum body. Both the Galaxy S6 comes with 5.1-inch Quad-HD 1440p Super AMOLED display but S6 Edge Display is curved on both the sides along with GorillaUnder the hood is powerful 64-bit Exynos octa-core processor with four cores clocked at 2.1GHz and rest four at 1.5GHz and on software front latest Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with the company’s proprietary TouchWiz UX, which is now minimal as per Google’s material design and doesn’t include too-much bloatware which user complained about during Galaxy S4 and S5 launch.
The RAM is now flagship standard 3GB with internal storage 32GB/64GB/128GB depending on the variant you select. It does bring in support for Wireless charging and includes fingerprint scanner, Samsung Pay and many other software related features from Samsung. Galaxy S6 is ultra thin at 6.8mm while S6 Edge is marginally thicker at 7.0mm.
Both the devices rocks 13-megapixels OIS camera with support for 4k video capture along with 5-megapixels front camera for popping selfies. In terms of connectivity both devices are on par with support for Cat 6 LTE, WiFi: 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4/5GHz), HT80 MIMO(2×2) 620Mbps, Wi-Fi Direct, Mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP, LE, apt-X, ANT+, NFC and IR Remote.
Galaxy S6 will come with 2550 mAh battery while th S6 Edge will come with 2600mAh battery and both devices are schedule to arrive on 10th April in 20 markets including USA, UK, France, Germany, Russia, India in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz (Galaxy S6 only) and Green Emerald (Galaxy S6 edge only) color options. Glass 4 for scratch resitance.
