It seems, that Apple TV will become on of the most important device in your house with the next update. Apple Insider reports that Apple’s latest beta software officially brings HomeKit support to its $99 streaming set-top box.
They had a word with an iOS developer in Apple’s internal development forum where he explained that Apple TV will become a remote access peer or relay, when it’s connected with iCloud. Past then, any device connected with your Apple TV will be accessible. The relay is only for devices connected via HomeKit application programming interface.
Apple is expected to hold a media event next Thursday on October 16th to unveil new hardware, and hopefully we may see some new announcement about Apple TV and Home Kit as well.
